Irina Jasnowski Pascual

Resident

Irina Jasnowski Pascual works fluidly with sculpture, sound, video and theatre. With a particular interest in creating theatrical networks for disparate pieces, Jasnowski Pascual employs alternative technologies and found materials to illuminate the connectivity between dimensions. Most recently she has simultaneously been working on a sound-system of orgiastic sculptures that explore the transfer of electromagnetic energy through the mediums of air and water, a piece of sonic theater with Tyler Berrier, as well as her first full-length feature Mystical Movie, a fully improvised narrative investigation of sound waves in a liquid scene.

Irina Jasnowski Pascual (1989, Spain) lives and works in New York City. She graduated from The Cooper Union School of Art with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in 2017. Since 2018 she has been a producer at Manhattan Neighborhood Network. Her work extends into Media and the Performing Arts in collaboration with Tyler Berrier, last year they wrote, directed and premiered their first opera, a prologue to the Public Access Television show. Past exhibitions include Set Ups: Lighting for Character Dangling Over Void, a solo exhibition at Interstate Projects, Brooklyn NY; Bathroom/Bathhouse, with Agata Ingarden at Mx Gallery, Manhattan NY; The Singularity of Portia di Plastica, with Tyler Berrier at Post Morrows Foundation, Brookhaven NY.

Her residency was organised in collaboration with Air Antwerpen and Etablissement d’en face, Brussels.
