Che Go Eun
Resident
1988, Seoul, South Korea, lives and works in Antwerp and Seoul.
Trained in Korean traditional painting, Che Go Eun makes digital collages, sculptures, drawings, paintings and zines inspired by folktales, religious iconography, and cyberculture. In her practice, she looks at how different cultures try to shape impulses, fetishes, and stereotypes.
She received her BA in Visual Arts from Sejong University in Seoul and her MA from MaHKU, Utrecht. She is a 2018 HISK laureate. Recent exhibitions include iwillmedievalfutureyou1, Art Sonje Center, Seoul (2019), iwillmedievalfutureyou6, Kunsthal Aarhus (2018), Soft Elements of Some Violent Tendencies, Kunsthal Extra City (2018), Show Me Tomorrow, We Will Go There, HISK, Ghent (2018), Somewhere in Between, BOZAR, Brussels (2017).
Che Go Eun is invited to participate in the sixth edition of STRT Kit.
