Table Sessions

Residency programme

The Table Sessions are a series of dinners conceived and hosted by the residents together with artist and cook Michelle Woods. We see these dinners as a lively and social way of sharing work, ideas and experiences during the residency, beyond conventional presentation formats. The dinners usually take place in the refectory of the former monastery. They are semi-public. Each resident can invite external guests who have a relevant link with their research or practice.

Here is an overview of the sessions in 2022, with a word from the hosts and links to the menus:

During the dinner we will share some food, conversation, and hopefully some laughs. I am excited to bring together a collection of humour enthusiasts, many of whom I have not met before.

Like flowers blooming at night, meals that ferment in obscurity. A menu based on the 'Nightlife' of plants and various old and new techniques, that will be the occasion to share, sometimes unusual visual experiences, or tastes.

I was in this magical garden on Wednesday and a small pink dog appeared / I followed it but it led me away / the garden, smelled like jasmine by the way / It led me to a rose coloured tent and inside looked like a wedding or a sleepover or / maybe both...

I hope for it to become a dinner as a comfort zone, a dinner as a safe space to just be, to eat, to share, to take care of one another and to exchange or, in case silence is what is needed, to share that silence.

This dinner will be about being an artist-in-residence and will consist of a tour in which you get to know the insights of my artist-in-residence life.

We propose a ritual where we will each through cut-out magazine collages make the monsters of the past year and accordingly set fire to them on the barbecue.

Inspired by the journey of Sirah’s great-grandfather Knud from the small Jewish community in Copenhagen to Bangkok between the two world wars, we present to you a 9-course dinner using only canned food to think on the locality and temporality of what we ingest.

To celebrate the end of our residency cycle, we are organising a night filled with music, video mapping, resident dj's (b2b), drinks, snacks and video games.
