Cléo Totti
Resident
Cléo Totti is an artist based in Liège. Her sculptural and performative practice combines a wide range of materials, including wax, clay, plastic, resin, plaster, aluminum, copper, textile, and organic elements. Her main motif is the human body, which is fragmented, distorted, and transfigured into pictorial objects. Alternating between liquid and solid states, her work signals a fluidity and hybridity of bodies that are at once synthetic and natural.
Cléo Totti (1989, Bastogne, Belgium) received her M.A. in Fine Arts from ERG (École de Recherche Graphique), Brussels (2015). She was a nominee for the Friends of S.M.A.K. Prize – Coming People (2016) and the recipient of the Prix de la Creation Liègeoise (2017). Select exhibitions include Fearless, Market Gallery, Glasgow (2019); Mechanical Lyricism, BPS22, Charleroi; Elite 18, KRIEG, Hasselt; Resistance, CENTRALE for Contemporary Art, Brussels (all 2018).
Her residency was organised in collaboration with Air Antwerpen and RAVI Liège.
