Cleo Fariselli

Resident

Cleo Fariselli is an Italian artist and performer. Her research evokes the suspended realm of the liminal and its imaginative, destabilizing, and transformative potential. Her recurring themes include looking and being seen, the body as landscape and instrument, the feminine and water, and the relationship between actuality and the unconscious.

Cleo’s residency in Antwerp is dedicated to the international presentation of a recent work and the development of a new one. MORPHO will function as a laboratory where the artist intends to do research, both theoretical and practical, aimed at a new video project whose main source of inspiration are hypnagogic hallucinations.

Her work has been exhibited in important public and private institutions in Italy and abroad including Contemporary Art Center, (Cincinnati, USA, 2022); Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (2022); GNAM - Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna (Rome, 2021); Palazzo Fortuny (Venice, 2017 and 2018); Centro Pecci (Prato, 2017); EACC (Castellò, Spain, 2013); Palazzo Reale (Milan, 2008 and 2011). In 2021 she was awarded the Italian Council production grant.

Her residency at MORPHO is being carried out in collaboration with Almanac.
